A Smarter Editor — Suggestions, Find And File Saving

The editor now helps you write code faster and tells you clearly what is happening to your files.

1. More Suggestions While You Type

  • Suggestions appear for keywords, common functions, snippets, members after a dot, and words already in your file.

  • Press Enter to accept one. Press Ctrl + Space to show the list again.

  • HTML tags, CSS properties and common code snippets are included.

  • Turn suggestions off in Settings if you prefer.

2. Automatic Indentation

  • Type {, (, [ or a quote and the closing one is added.

  • Press Enter between brackets or between HTML tags and the cursor lands on a properly indented new line.

  • Python indents after a colon.

  • Tidy code (Shift + Alt + F) re-indents the file. Ctrl + Z undoes it.

3. Find and Replace

  • Ctrl + F opens the find bar and Ctrl + H adds replace.

  • It shows the match count, with Match case, Whole word and Regex options.

  • Close it with the X button or Esc.

4. Clear File Status

  • A dot on a tab means unsaved changes.

  • The status bar shows Saved, Saving or New file.

  • Saving an existing file updates it. A new file is created the first time you save it.

  • Ctrl + S saves immediately.

5. Files List

Open All files from the ⋮ menu to search your whole workspace, open an old program, or start a new one. You can also rename, duplicate, download one file or all files as a .zip, and open a file from your device.

6. Other Handy Things

  • Command palette (Ctrl + K) finds any action by name.

  • Go to line (Ctrl + G), duplicate a line (Ctrl + D), move a line (Alt + ↑ ↓).

  • Settings: font size, tab size, word wrap, auto-save, live preview.

Q1. Why is there a dot on my tab?

That file has changes that are not saved yet. It disappears when the status bar says Saved.

Q2. How do I turn suggestions off?

Open Settings from the ⋮ menu and switch off Auto-complete.

Q3. Can I recover an old program?

Open All files and search for its name.
