The New Coding Hub — Cleaner, Faster, Simpler
The Coding Hub has been rebuilt from the ground up. This article explains what is new and how to find your way around.
Open the CONNECT SRMAP Compiler: https://oursrmap.purlyedit.in/compiler/index.php
1. A Clean White Design
Every screen now uses a pure white background.
The dark theme has been removed, so there is nothing to switch.
Scrollbars no longer take up space on the side of the editor, tabs and menus. You can still scroll normally with your finger, mouse or trackpad.
Buttons for undo, redo, save, find and AI sit in one tidy row at the top. On a phone, a bottom bar switches between Code and Output.
2. The Nine Languages
| Language | Where it runs |
|---|---|
| Python, Java, C, C++, PHP | On the cloud compiler |
| JavaScript, TypeScript, SQLite | Instantly in your browser |
| HTML / CSS / JS | Live preview in your browser |
Choose a language from the menu at the top. A working example loads, so you always start with code that runs.
What about other languages? Go, Rust, Ruby and similar languages are no longer offered. Files you saved earlier in those languages are not deleted. They open as plain text.
3. Running Code
Choose a language and write your code.
Tap Run, or press Ctrl + Enter.
The Output tab shows the result, a green or red banner, and the time taken.
A thin progress bar runs along the top while your code runs, and the status bar shows how many errors the last run had.
4. Compiler Errors That Help
Error lines are clickable. Tap one and the editor jumps to that line.
The faulty line is marked in red until you run again.
After a failed run, Fix with AI appears (see the AI article).
5. Status Bar and Indicators
The bottom bar shows, from left to right:
Saved / Saving / New file for the current file
Problems: errors or warnings from the last run
Line and column, and how many characters are selected
Spaces, language, encoding
6. Team, Guide and Tour
Open the ⋮ menu for How to use, Take the tour and Team. The Team screen introduces the students who built the Coding Hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. The left scrollbar is gone. Can I still scroll?
Yes. Scrolling works exactly as before. Only the scrollbar graphic is hidden.
Q2. Can I get the dark theme back?
No. The Coding Hub now has one white design.
Q3. Why are Java and C++ slower than JavaScript?
JavaScript, TypeScript, SQLite and HTML run inside your browser. The others run on a cloud compiler and are compiled first.
Q4. Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The layout is built for phones. You get a quick-key bar above the keyboard with brackets, quotes and Tab.
