Subject Chat — Getting Started, Subjects, Questions And Answers

Subject Chat is the CONNECT SRMAP AI mentor that knows your courses. Every subject has its own chat, so you can ask doubts and get answers focused on that subject. Your questions and answers are saved per subject, so you can return to them later.

This guide explains how to unlock Subject Chat, navigate your courses, ask questions, manage answers, and return to previous conversations.

1. How to Unlock Subject Chat

CONNECT SRMAP AI is available after a 10-day login streak.

  • Log in on 10 days in a row to unlock it.

  • Your current streak is shown on the page.

  • If you miss a day, the streak starts again, so check in daily to keep it.

  • Subject Chat shows your courses after your Student Portal information is synced. If a message says your session needs attention, open Student Bind, refresh your account details, and come back.

2. Your Subjects

  • The left panel lists your current courses. Use Search courses to find one quickly.

  • Tap a subject to open its chat. Each subject keeps its own separate conversation.

  • Pin a subject to keep it at the top, or use Reorder & Pin Subjects to arrange the list your way.

  • Course Options lets you manage a subject, for example, by clearing its chat.

  • On a phone, use the back arrow to return to the subject list. On a laptop, you can collapse the sidebar for more room.

3. Asking Questions

  1. Open a subject.

  2. Type your question in the box and send it.

  3. The answer appears word by word. Press Stop generating if you have seen enough.

Message limit: One message can be up to 4,000 characters.

The mentor remembers the most recent part of your conversation, so follow-up questions such as "explain that with an example" work. For a completely new topic, it helps to say the topic name again.

4. Working With Answers

Every answer has tools under it:

  • Copy response copies the text.

  • Copy code and Download code appear on any code block.

  • Regenerate asks for a fresh answer if the first one was not useful. The old answer is kept if the new one fails.

  • Reply quotes a message so you can ask about one specific part.

  • Listen / Stop Voice reads the answer aloud.

  • Helpful / Not helpful tells us how the answer was. This feedback helps improve the mentor.

  • Report flags a wrong or inappropriate answer. Choose a reason, and the team reviews it.

  • Delete removes a single message from your chat.

Finding Previous Questions

Previous Questions lists what you asked before in that subject, so you can find an older answer without scrolling through the entire conversation.

Managing Your Chat

You can delete a single message using its Delete option. You can also clear the whole subject chat through Course Options when you want to start fresh.
