Account Verification, Forgot Password, And Login Security

Account Verification, Password Recovery, and Login Security

Your CONNECT SRMAP account helps you access the student platform. Keeping your account verified and protecting your login details helps reduce unauthorized access and login problems.

1. What to Do if Your Account Is Not Verified

If you enter the correct password but your account has not been verified, the login page displays an Account Registered, But Not Verified! notice.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the login page.

  2. Enter your Register Number or registered email and password.

  3. Complete the security verification.

  4. If the unverified-account notice appears, select Send Email Again.

  5. Wait for the response confirming whether the verification email was sent.

  6. Check your inbox and Spam/Junk folder.

  7. Open the verification email and follow its link.

The verification email may take a little time to arrive. You can search your mailbox for connectsrmap@purlyedit.in.

2. How to Reset a Forgotten Password

If you cannot remember your password:

  1. Open the CONNECT SRMAP login page.

  2. Select Forgot password?

  3. Follow the instructions displayed on the password recovery page.

  4. Complete any required verification steps.

  5. Return to the login page and use your updated password.

Important: The supplied login code links to this recovery page, but the login file alone does not establish the complete password-reset process or its exact verification requirements. Follow the instructions on the recovery page.

3. How to Protect Your Account

Follow these security practices:

  • Use a password that is difficult for others to guess.

  • Do not share your password with friends or other students.

  • Avoid entering your credentials on suspicious websites.

  • Do not save your password on public or shared computers.

  • Log out when using a shared device.

  • Keep access to your registered email account secure.

  • Never share a verification link or password-reset link with someone else.

  • Contact support if you notice unusual account activity.

Important Note About “Remember me”

The current login page saves the username and password in browser local storage when Remember me is selected. The password is encoded using Base64, which is reversible and is not secure encryption.

For your safety, avoid selecting this option, especially on shared devices. If you previously enabled it on a shared computer, remove the saved login details and ensure you log out.

4. What Happens During a Successful Login?

After successful authentication, CONNECT SRMAP:

  • Creates or refreshes the authenticated session.

  • Resets the recorded failed-password count for the account.

  • Records login information in the login history, including the time and device information.

  • May use the IP address to look up approximate location information.

  • Redirects you to the relevant page based on your account type and profile information.

These steps help the platform manage account sessions and login records.

Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)

Q1. I registered successfully but cannot log in. Why?

Your account may not yet be verified. Try logging in and check whether the unverified-account notice appears. If it does, use Send Email Again.

Q2. What should I do if I do not receive the verification email?

Check Spam/Junk, search for connectsrmap@purlyedit.in, and request another verification email using the option on the login page. If it still does not arrive, contact support.

Q3. Can I reset my password without contacting support?

The login page provides a Forgot password? link. Open it and follow the available recovery instructions.

Q4. Is the verification email the same as a password-reset email?

No. Email verification confirms your account's email-verification status, while password recovery is intended to help you regain access when you forget your password.

Q5. Is it safe to select Remember me?

It is safer to avoid this option on public or shared devices. In the current implementation, the saved password is stored using reversible Base64 encoding.

Q6. Does CONNECT SRMAP record login information?

The supplied login code records login time, IP address, device information, and available approximate location details in login history.

Q7. What should I do if I suspect someone else has accessed my account?

Use the password recovery option if needed, secure your registered email account, and contact CONNECT SRMAP support to report the concern.

Q8. Can I share my password with the support team to resolve a login issue?

No. Never share your password. Explain the error you are seeing and provide the relevant account identifier only through an appropriate support channel.

Q9. Where can I find help for login and account-access problems?

Visit the Help Center or email the CONNECT SRMAP support team.
