📌 Account Deletion Overview

Deleting your CONNECT SRMAP account is a permanent action. Before you proceed, review what will be removed and confirm that you really want to delete your account.

⚙️ Account Deletion Process

  1. You must be logged in to access the Delete Account page.
  2. The page displays your first name so you can confirm you are working with the correct account.
  3. Enter a reason for leaving. This feedback is required and must contain at least 20 characters with meaningful letters or numbers.
  4. Enter your Register Number exactly as shown on the page to confirm that you are intentionally deleting your own account.
  5. The Delete Account button becomes available only after both the reason and Register Number are valid.

🔒 3-Step Final Confirmation

  1. The first confirmation explains that your account information, followers, chat messages, Community content, and other associated data will be permanently removed.
  2. The second confirmation explains the 30-day registration cooldown and asks you to acknowledge that you cannot create a new account using the same Register Number or email before the cooldown expires.
  3. The final confirmation clearly warns that the account will be deleted permanently and your active session will end.

Only after completing all three confirmations is the deletion request submitted.

🗑️ What Will Be Removed

  • Profile information, skills, and credentials.
  • Community Posts, Comments, saved content, likes, reports, team memberships, and associated Community uploads.
  • Community media files and comment media files associated with your account.
  • Chat messages.
  • Certificates and certificate reposts, including certificate files stored for your account.
  • Followers and following connections.
  • Profile views, profile likes, blocks, and other social connections.
  • Redeemed rewards.
  • Recent search visits and related search records.
  • Room Swap information, including supported listings, interests, and settings connected to your account.
  • Help requests, replies, likes, and related Help activity.
  • Help reports associated with your account.
  • Login history.
  • The main student account record is deleted from the active student database.
  • Related files from the relevant storage locations where applicable.

📦 Account Archiving

Before the active account is deleted, CONNECT SRMAP creates a record in its deleted-account system. This archive contains the student’s account data and related activity counts, together with the deletion reason, deletion method, email information, and deletion timestamp. The deletion is recorded as a self-requested deletion and is used to enforce the account recreation rules.

⏳ 30-Day Registration Cooldown

After deleting your account, you cannot immediately create another CONNECT SRMAP account using the same Register Number or email. A 30-day cooldown period applies. The Delete Account page calculates and displays the exact date on which you can register again. If you delete your account today, you must wait until the displayed date before creating a new account under the applicable registration rules.

⚠️ Important: Deletion Is Permanent

Deleting your account permanently removes your active student account and the associated data covered by the deletion process. Once the deletion is completed, you should not expect your deleted Community content, chats, certificates, social connections, profile information, or other removed records to be restored.

🛑 Before You Delete

  • Make sure you really want to leave CONNECT SRMAP.
  • If you only want to correct your profile information, change your details, or resolve an issue, you do not need to delete your account. Contact the Help Center first and ask for assistance.
  • Save anything you may personally need before deleting your account because deleted content may not be recoverable.

💬 Your Feedback

CONNECT SRMAP asks you to provide a reason before deleting your account. This feedback helps the platform understand why students leave and identify areas where the experience can be improved. Your reason must contain at least 20 characters and meaningful text.

❌ Cancel Deletion

If you change your mind before the final confirmation, select Cancel or Go Back. No deletion is performed until you complete the final confirmation and submit the deletion form.

✅ After Deletion

  • Your active account is deleted.
  • Your active login session is ended.
  • Your login cookie is cleared.
  • You are redirected to the CONNECT SRMAP Login page.
  • The 30-day account recreation cooldown continues to apply.

🔐 Account Security

  • Only the logged-in account owner can access the Delete Account page.
  • You must confirm your own Register Number before the deletion button becomes active.
  • The final deletion is performed on the server after the confirmation process is completed.
  • If the Register Number entered for confirmation does not match the currently logged-in account, the deletion request is rejected.

CONNECT SRMAP is an independent student-built platform created to provide useful academic, community, communication, and campus-related services for students. It is not affiliated with, officially connected to, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by SRM University, Andhra Pradesh (SRM AP). The platform is independently developed and maintained by students. Any academic, campus, hostel, student, or university-related information displayed on CONNECT SRMAP is provided for student convenience and should not be considered official communication or representation of SRM University, Andhra Pradesh. Students should verify important official information through the university’s official communication channels.
