📌 Public Account

When your account is set to Public, any student on the campus portal can view your profile details and posts. Your public profile may include your showcase, skills, activities, and other information available through your profile. A public account makes it easier for other students to discover you and interact with your available student information.

🔐 Private Account

When your account is set to Private, your profile visibility is restricted. Only students you approve can view your showcase, posts, media, and profile details. This gives you more control over who can access your profile information and community activity.

👥 Followers and New Connections

Switching to a private account does not remove students who already follow you. Existing followers remain, but new connection requests must be approved before the student can see your restricted content.

🔄 Change Your Privacy Setting

  1. Navigate to Account Privacy in your settings.
  2. Use the privacy toggle to switch between Public and Private.
  3. Confirm the change when prompted. If you choose Private, the confirmation explains that only approved students will see your posts, media, and profile details. If you choose Public, the confirmation explains that all students on the campus portal will be able to view your profile and posts.

✅ After Changing Privacy

Once you confirm the change, CONNECT SRMAP saves your new privacy preference and displays a confirmation screen indicating that the setting was updated successfully. Your account status will now show as either Private or Public.

🛡️ Why Use a Private Account?

A private account is useful if you want more control over who can view your student profile and community-related content. It is helpful when you prefer to keep your profile limited to students you personally approve.

ℹ️ Important

Changing your account to private does not delete your profile, posts, followers, or other account information. It only changes the visibility of your profile and posts according to the privacy setting. You can return to public whenever you want.

🔐 Your Choice

Your account visibility is controlled from your Account Privacy settings. You can review your current status at any time and change it whenever your preference changes.
